A day in the life of a Recruitment Consultant
As a consultant you will wear many hats throughout the day.
From 7am you will be the emergency service for schools! Assisting them with bookings for that day. You need to be organised and a quick worker to ensure everyone is in the right place at the right time.
8.30 – team meeting to discuss the focus for the day/week. Great opportunity to discuss new candidates and opportunities and seek advice!
9 onwards you will review new applicants, check over CVs, seek out roles and set up interviews and trials for the right people.
The biggest chunk of the day will focus on building your desk! Each desk is your own little business. You need to speak to current and prospective clients and build those relationships
Once the schools close you will focus on writing job adverts, liaising with your candidates and ensuring their CVS are spot on. You will also tie up any any administration that’s occurred throughout the day- sending contracts to clients or candidates.
End of the day- Review & breathe! You will review the day with your team and ensure you are prepared for the next morning- with sufficient candidates up and ready to fulfil ad-hoc demand, trials and interviews booked in and client visits arranged.
Being a consultant is a varied and fast paced role, its not for the faint hearted! Its hard work but very rewarding!
