Home School Liaison Officer

Pay scale: Band 4, Points 3 – 4

Hours: 35 hours per week, TTO plus 8 days

(Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 4.00pm, Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm with some flexibility based on school events)

Salary Range: £15,276 – £15,849


Carlton Mills is a new, rapidly improving primary school of around 330 students based close to the centre of Bradford. It is addressing a long record of under-performance at its predecessor school and leaders are confident that the school will soon become ‘Good’ and then ‘Outstanding’ in line with the Trust ethos of ‘Excellence for All’.


The school is an integral part of a diverse and very supportive local community, with parents/carers regularly welcomed into school to be part of their child’s learning journey. The Trust has recently introduced a new inspirational curriculum following the ’Real People, Real Places, Real Learning’ agenda to bring learning and new opportunities to life. We also seek to create links to the local community/businesses to enhance and develop our broad and balanced curriculum, ensuring that our students have the highest aspirations within and beyond the communities in which they live.


We currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and dynamic Home School Liaison Officer this post will work closely with the Attendance officer working with families and pupils to improve attendance and building links between the Academy and home, the majority of the day will be spent visiting homes of absent pupils to engage with parents/carers and pupils to increase attendance and engagement


We are looking for somebody with:


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with staff, pupils, parents, carers and other educational professional.
  • Good organisational skills, flexibility, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Polite, professional and friendly manner
  • Is able to work in a team and on their own initiative.


PLEASE NOTE: Full Driving licence and use of a Car is essential for this role
