Are you seeking a part-time time opportunity in the Leeds area?

 

Then, this could be the ideal role for you!… We are actively recruiting for an organised and friendly Science Technician to join the staff team at one of our partnership Secondary Schools based in the LS28 area of Leeds.

You will work on a part-time basis, 3 days per week (Monday-Wednesday) to meet the needs of the department and be flexible in your approach. The position is expected to commence September 2025 and will be ongoing to provide maternity cover across the key stage 3/4 Science Department.

The welcoming Grammar School is at the heart of the local community, providing an enriching and forward thinking educational experience for students aged 11 – 18 years. They work hard to ensure a truly inspirational community of learning, where everyone feels part of the school journey and is supported to succeed to the best of their ability.

You must be confident maintaining, setting up and preparing resources and equipment under the guidance of the class teacher. You will be working as part of the Science Faculty to engage learners and ensure their safety and welfare during use of equipment and resources. Strong organisational skills are essential, as well as excellent knowledge of the Science curriculum.

We offer competitive rates of pay up to £100, depending on your experience and the role requirements.

Your role as a Science Technician:

  • Support the Teacher to engage students in learning & build confidence.
  • Adapt to the diverse needs of students within your care.
  • Maintain strong classroom management & promote high standards for learning.
  • Set up classroom resources under the guidance of the Teacher.
  • Ensure the health, safety and welfare of students accessing resources.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a positive and child-centred staff team.

We are seeking a Science Technician with:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Confidence, inclusivity, and passion for supporting pupil’s and teaching staff.
  • Familiarity with the UK Science Curriculum.
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure or be willing to obtain one through us.
  • Right to Work in the UK, unfortunately we are unable to offer Visa Sponsorship.
