CPD is important as it enhances skills and opens up new opportunities.
CPD enables our Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors to:
- Keep up to date with education knowledge
- Ensure they are aligned with necessary policies
- Keep abreast of the latest techniques and schemes of work
- Prepare for challenges which candidates will face in the classroom
- Have the opportunity to enhance skills and knowledge
- Become more appealing to schools – a candidate who pays attention to their CPD is likely to be in high demand
You will be alerted to CPD opportunities through regular communication including emails, calls and newsletters. The range of CPD we offer varies from mandatory annual training and generic training via our online portal, to one to one support for specific roles or to assist with developmental needs.

The National College
In 2024 we added The National College to our portfolio of training options. As a candidate of Principal Resourcing, you have free access to a wide range of courses, webinars, podcasts and briefings for the education sector. Used by over 40,000 schools and nurseries for their CPD, if offers up to date courses to help you thrive as an education professional.
Virtual Training
Through our experienced trainers we offer a range of courses and mentoring options to assist with CPD. Courses are either 1-1 or in small groups and are carried out virtually via video calls. These are interactive sessions where you have the option to not only take part, but to also ask questions and share your individual experiences.
Opportunities whilst in placements
If you are in a long term placement with a school, there are likely to be opportunities for you to be involved in further training. Sometimes this is carried out on inset days and some training may be mandatory to your role.
