We have an exciting opportunity for a Cover Supervisor to join our talent pool in Grimsby, providing full-time teaching support for pupils across the Secondary curriculum from September 2024. The position will initially be on a temporary basis to meet the needs of the school and may become permanent for the right applicant.

The Secondary Academy is part of the Delta Academies Trust, offering a diverse and challenging curriculum experience for students of all abilities. As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide supervision of pupil learning within the academy. You will need to respond to questions, generally assist students to undertake set activities and uphold standards of behaviour in the classroom. In addition to cover needs, you will be required to work alongside teaching and classroom-based staff to provide general support for departments. This is a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the academy/school. It is important for you to be ICT literate and competent in using a variety of software packages.

You will work collaboratively as part of a friendly staff team, to promote consistency in learning, high achievement, positive wellbeing and be committed to providing an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all pupils within your care in the Teachers absence.

We welcome applications from experienced support staff and offer competitive rates of pay up to £100, depending on your experience and the role requirements.

Your role as a Cover Supervisor:

  • Deliver lessons in the Teachers absence
  • Engage students in learning & build confidence.
  • Adapt to the diverse needs of students within your care.
  • Maintain strong classroom management & promote high standards for learning.
  • Support students to positively progress, through suitable intervention.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a positive and child-centred staff team.

We are seeking a Cover Supervisor with:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
  • Confidence, inclusivity, and passion for supporting pupil progression.
  • Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the UK Curriculum.
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure or be willing to obtain one through us.
  • Right to Work in the UK, unfortunately we are unable to offer Visa Sponsorship.
