Here at Principal Resourcing, we have a unique opportunity for an organised and adaptive Head of Learning Support to provide maternity cover at one of our partnership Secondary Schools and Sixth-Forms, based in York. You will ideally be an experienced specialist with excellent communication skills, capable of supporting pupils aged 11-18. You will primarily take on the role of Learning Support Teacher with a large focus on KS3 pupil support. The role will also include some SENCo responsibilities to meet the needs of the school, reporting to the Academic Deputy. The position is expected to commence November 2024 and will be ongoing to meet the needs of the school.
The 11-18 Secondary School is committed to safeguarding the welfare of pupils and providing an engaging and creative curriculum experience that excites learners and build a passion for subjects. You will work alongside the staff team to ensure effective teaching and learning, manage the screening programme for pupils with additional needs and ensure effective record keeping and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of educational processes.
You can expect to earn up to £230 per day for this role, depending on experience.
We are seeking a practitioner with:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar leadership role
- Good knowledge of SEND Policy & Practices
- Confidence, inclusivity, and passion for progressing learning
- Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the UK Curriculum
- An enhanced DBS disclosure or be willing to obtain one through us
- Right to Work in the UK, unfortunately we are unable to offer Visa Sponsorship
