Here at Principal Resourcing, we are seeking to appoint an organised and patients Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HTLA) to join one of our Specialist Provision Schools from with immediate start. The full-time role is expected to become permanent for the right applicant and will provide ongoing teaching support and lesson delivery in the Teachers short-term absence.
The Specialist School based in Barnsley is one of the UK’s largest special schools, catering for over 300 children and young people aged 13-19 years with severe and complex learning disabilities. You will work in collaboration with the existing staff team to support learning and progression for students within your care.
We offer competitive rates of pay up to £100 per day, salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Your role as a HLTA:
- Supporting and leading a class.
- Ability to form relationships and communicate effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
- Completing pupil records with regular feedback to senior colleagues.
- Flexible to cover other classes and act up where necessary.
- Using your experience to lead enrichment groups.
- Be involved and active with all activities we as an inclusive school may promote.
- Direct junior staff.
We are seeking a HLTA with:
- A full and relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Confidence, inclusivity, and passion for supporting SEN pupil progression.
- Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the UK Curriculum.
- An enhanced DBS disclosure or be willing to obtain one through us.
- Right to Work in the UK, unfortunately we are unable to offer Visa Sponsorship.
