We have a fantastic opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join the TASC (Thinking Actively in a Social Context) Team at one of our partnership Secondary Academies based in Bradford, BD17. You will provide short-term cover with immediate start to support pupils across the TASC area, working in collaboration with the existing staff team.
The position will involve delivery of intervention programmes for: 1:1 Mentoring, Anti-Bullying, Anger Management and Respectful Learning.
The mixed Comprehensive School caters for pupils aged 11-16 within welcoming surroundings, placing pupils at the heart of everything they do. Offering an engaging curriculum centred around the core values of togetherness, resilience, ambition and care. You will join a strong community of learning, working in partnership with pupils, staff and families to extend learning opportunity and promote high engagement.
Your role as a TASC Learning Support:
- Support in the start of day preparation
- Produce form/period 1 pupil pick up lists/support with pupil collection for TASC
- Prepare lesson 1 work for TASC pupils/allocate a seating plan
- Email reception for any late arrivals to be held in reception
- Email whole school with regards to which pupils are in TASC
- Inform attendance of TASC attendees. This will need to be repeated throughout the day with any additions to the area.
- Monitor pupils behaviour i.e. work completed/encouraged to make the right choices
- Support with lesson changeover i.e. correct work for each period
- Distribute work sent by teaching staff
- Assist with pupil toilet breaks
- Assist with pupil sensory breaks
- Distribute lunch slips/collect pupil lunches
- Upkeep of TASC booking sheet
- On-call response phone and radio support and communication
- Upkeep of On-call sheet
- Input of on-call information onto class charts.
We are seeking a candidate with:
- A full and relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Confidence, inclusivity, and passion for supporting pupil progression.
- Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the UK Curriculum.
- Previous experience in a similar role desirable.
- Excellent organisational and teamwork skills.
- An enhanced DBS disclosure or be willing to obtain one through us.
- Right to Work in the UK, unfortunately we are unable to offer Visa Sponsorship.
