Here at Principal Resourcing, we have a fantastic opportunity for a friendly and passionate Teacher of French to join the staff team at one of our partnership Secondary Schools based in Knottingley, WF11. You will be confident delivering full time French Language lessons to pupils across KS3/4 from September 204. The position will initially be on a fixed term basis for one year to cover maternity leave and may be extended to meet the needs of the school.

The Secondary Academy caters for students aged 11-16 within a vibrant and diverse setting, passionate about giving students and staff the opportunity to develop and progress as supported individuals and offering a welcoming environment for learning and positive wellbeing. You will join a dedicated team of staff, becoming a valued member of the Languages Department. The academy set high aspirations for all students, promoting positive partnerships with parents and offering strong pastoral care and extra-curricular activities for all students.

We offer competitive rates of pay up to £230 per day, depending on experience and welcome applications from ECT’s and experienced Teachers.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A good degree in an appropriate discipline related to French
  • A teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A strong and secure subject knowledge in MFL up to GCSE
  • Recent and relevant teaching experience
  • Experience of assessment at key stage 3 and 4
  • Awareness of the strategies available for improving the learning and achievement of all students
  • A good understanding of curriculum developments in MFL
  • Able to use a range of teaching and learning strategies
