Principal Resourcing are seeking to appoint a confident and caring Teaching Assistant to join one of our diverse Specialist Provision Schools from September 2024. You will work in collaboration with the friendly staff team to effectively adapt learning and utilise appropriate resources for all pupils within your care on a full-time basis.

The Alternative Provision School, based in Barnsley offers a purposeful learning environment that is physically and emotionally safe, ensuring all children and young people are well prepared for further education, employment and participation in society. As a Teaching Assistant within a Specialist Setting you will make connections, develop relationships and lead pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day.

We offer competitive rates of pay up to £100, depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will be confident:

  • Getting the classroom ready for lessons
  • Supporting children in class with reading, visual learning and messy play
  • Helping those who need extra support
  • Completing pupils record plans

You will ideally have:

  • GCSE Math’s and English or equivalent
  • Experience working with children/ younger people
  • Experience or interest in working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs
  • The ability to relate to children and younger people to build positive relationships
  • A full and relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Confidence, inclusivity, and passion for supporting SEN pupil progression.
  • Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the UK Curriculum.
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure or be willing to obtain one through us.
  • Right to Work in the UK, unfortunately we are unable to offer Visa Sponsorship.
