Principal Resourcing are looking for a Learning Mentor to work with one of our Partnership Primary Schools in BD9. The School is a busy and vibrant 2 form entry school who offer a friendly, caring environment where staff and pupils alike are encouraged and supported to do their best. They enjoy strong links with our parents and local community.

The School currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and dynamic Learning Mentor, you will provide a complimentary service to teachers and support staff in the school. Alongside the teaching and other support staff, you will work to address the needs of pupils who require support to overcome barriers to learning (social, emotional and mental health) they may experience both inside and outside of the school.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience working with children, ideally children with SEMH needs. In this role you will work closely with individuals who are struggling with social, emotional or behavioural needs that affect their ability to learn.

You’ll work alongside teachers and other staff, figuring out the needs of learners who require help and how to overcome barriers that are preventing them from achieving their full potential. You’ll work with a range of learners but give priority to those who need the most help, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages. You will target several barriers, ranging from punctuality, absence, challenging behaviour and abuse, to working with able and gifted learners who are experiencing difficulties.

You’ll be based predominantly in school but will have a broader remit including families and the wider community. You might work with children on a one-to-one basis or in small or large groups.

We welcome visits to the school; to arrange a convenient time please contact Anita Riedel, Recruitment Manager
