Principal Resourcing have a great opportunity for an innovative and inspiring Maths teacher to join one of our supportive schools in Wakefield.  You will be supporting learners to make excellent progress in one of the Core Subjects.  The school are looking for a qualified teacher with some experience in teaching the Maths curriculum (NQTs are welcome to apply).  They would like a teacher who is able to reflect on their practise and be proactive in adapting your lessons to suit the profile of your learners.  You must be able to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team within the school and be flexible in your thinking and approach to teaching to ensure you reach the pupils using a diverse pedagogy of teaching strategies.  Most importantly you must have a sense of humour!

The School is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and is undergoing an expansion programme and are seeking to appoint either an experienced or newly qualified practitioner to join their supportive team to develop this fundamental aspect of our provision.  The role will be to start after February half-term or possibly sooner.

Within the role you are required to:

  • Plan and deliver high standards of teaching and learning outcomes
  • Teach up to KS5 Mathematics
  • Offer extra-curricular activities after school to complement the curriculum
  • Promote the positive behaviour policy of the school
  • KS3 subsidiary subject is advantageous

What you require:

  • A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • a relevant BA/MA in Maths or a related subject
  • previous experience of delivering Maths up to GCSE and Ideally A- level
