The government have published guidance for schools on handling strike action.
With forthcoming action pending, this guidance is for governing bodies, headteachers, school leaders and school staff and includes guidance on:
- how to keep schools open
- the law on trade disputes and picketing

Members of the National Education Union in England will strike on Thursday 27 April and Tuesday 2 May.
In Northern Ireland, five teaching unions will strike on Wednesday 26 April.
